The way I see it, some people are taking honoring our servicemen too far. It doesn't matter what holiday we celebrate anymore, someone tries to tie it into the servicemen who have given their lives for our country. I am a military brat. I have total respect for everything military. But sometimes, I think it is okay to celebrate an occasion for its own merits. I refuse to feel anti-Amrican for not celebrating servicemen at all times.

It reminds me of that song by Lee Greenwood, God Bless the USA. They used to play it at one of the shows at Fiesta Texas. Everyone felt obligated to stand up for it. People looked around and glared at those who didn't. It became more of a "you better stand up" kind of thing, instead of a heartfelt and spontaneous recognition of our "Amercanhood". Forced patriotism at its worse.
