Just Play the Damned Music!

The way I see it, companies that have those automatic answering systems are just trying to drive me crazy. They seem to thing we are too stupid to understand that they will answer our calls when they can. They play that horrible looped jazz music over and over and keep interrupting with statements telling us to stay on the line. Do they really think we need to hear, "Thank you for continuing to hold. Due to high call volume, your wait may be longer than usual. Please, stay on the line and the next available..." 100 plus times while we wait. I am not stupid. I know I am waiting. I know I don't have a choice. Quit making it worse.
The way I see it, they should just play the damned music and leave me alone.
