The way I see it, people who are renting a campsite in a public park need to relax and stop worrying about what other people are doing, unless it is causing some loss or harm. There is an argument running on one of the RV forums about dumping tanks. The originator of the discussion was evidently bothered that campers from "non full hookup" sites (no sewer connection) were driving into empty "full hookup" sites (sewer connection) to dump their tanks on the way out of the park instead of standing in line to use the one or two holes in the park designated as "dump sites".

First of all, I don't see what it matters. The waste all ends up in the same place anyway. But, more importantly, it is nobody else's business what happens in an empty site. Dumping your tanks is not hurting anything. It is silly to expect people to sit in a line of fifty campers when 50 empty sites are available and perfectly ready to be dumped in.

Here's my analogy. If I rent a space at a park for my RV and decide to go for a ten-mile hike along the trails, but get tired near an empty campsite on the way back, why shouldn't I sit at the picnic table and rest. Am I cheating because I didn't pay for that site? I say no. The way I see it, I am making use of a resource that is readily available to me in my time of need.
